What I came up with because I have nothing to write about

My Ipod is on Shuffle will listen to five songs and tell you the first thought that pops into my head when I hear them:

#1)Tiziano Ferro- Perdona

1st thought: Davide- The Italian

Tiziano Ferro is a famous Italian artist, he also sings in Spanish. He is one of my favorites, Italian boy liked him too, he sang this song to me in Italian once.

#2) Daddy Yankee- Lo Que Paso, Paso Bachata/Salsa Remix

1st thought: Winter 2005

Endless partying with my cousin last winter, that was our favorite CD and we would play it while getting ready to go out and in the car. This was my favorite song out of the CD.

#3) The Police- Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic

1st thought: My ex, Jon.

This was our song. He picked it, cheesy, cheesy, cheesy but cute.

#4) Juanes- Para Tu Amor

1st thought: I want a boyfriend.

This is the sweetest song ever, I want to meet a guy that feels exactly what the song says for me.

#5)R. Kelly- Ignition Remix

1st thought: Perfect!

It's 4:51 and I'm leaving work.

It's the freakin weekend Baby I'm about to have me some fun.

Im actually being social tonight. Woohoo.

Anyone like the sound of a dying cow?

If you answered yes, then I invite you to come hear me lead Spanish worship at an event for the low income families in Lakeway. Yes, there are really poor people in Lakeway. Five trailer parks full actually. They are mostly Hispanic.

I mentioned a while back that my parents got ordained as Pastors, well they oversee the Hispanic Ministry at our church. There are only a handful of Spanish speaking members at our Church, mostly consisting of my immediate family. Our praise and worship team only sings in English.

We need worship in Spanish for this event, so my Mom volunteered me, my cousin and one of her Spanish speaking lady friends. Only to have my cousin back out last minute. The other lady sounds like an entire herd or dying cows. So this leaves just me. So I had to do what I didn't want to, I recruited my friend Carlos. Carlos is an amazing singer and Spanish speaker. However, there is a very particular reason why I didn't want him to be involved. Carlos lives with the boy who rejected me, Carlos is not one of the roommates that likes me, but I don't want to around the boy who rejected me anymore. I dread seeing him actually.

So of course we held practice at Carlos' house even though I suggested otherwise. I I didn't have a reason to object though, because I can't tell Carlos that I asked out his roommate, how embarrassing. I was hoping the boy who rejected me would just leave, but he didn't. He hung around (I will write about this in detail later) and when we said we were going to practice he volunteered to play guitar for us. I had a feeling he just wanted to point and laugh at me because rejecting me wasn't enough.

He was surprisingly nice. Turns out I'm not bad, and I'm actually singing lead in a couple of the songs. Or at least that's what they told me. I'm scared shit less. So if you'd like to come out to hear me sing or help out for a good cause, let me know. However, please read the following disclaimer:

Listen at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any hearing damage or loss that may occur.

Leave MY fucking song alone!

I don't want to hear it on MTV, especially not when it's featured on an episode of Laguna Beach. I don't want to hear it on the local pop station, especially when it's featured on a new music segment on the radio show of The Media Guy I pissed Off.

It's not new! It's been my favorite song for well over a year. This blog is named after it. I love, love, love it! For the love of God, PLEASE don't ruin it for me. It's an awesome song and I know that the teeny bopper kids are just going to soak it all up and next show I go see Im going to be the only person of age at the show, ok well maybe Snippy will be there too. BUT STILL!

Leave it the fuck alone. Leave it in my little world of guilty pleasures. Leave it alone in my world of designer clothes, make up, sweaty hot band boys, or even regular hot boys, rock & roll, sex and cheesecake.

I know it's kind of stupid of me to become possesive of a song, but I do. All the time. I feel like my favorite songs are my little treasures, hidden from the world and when they are discovered I get a little jealous. Like, "Hey but I liked it first!"

"Little old me, Yeah I LIKED IT FIRST."

I want someone to recognize that, cause really it matters.

I know, I know it's stupid. I know I should be happy for them, that they're going to get super huge and make lots of money. They're nice guys and they deserve it. I mean really I met them, they're nice. Agustana is an awesome band, with a bunch of good guys. They deserve to get big.
I just didn't want MY song, Boston, to get ruined.

I can totally understand why the world is in love with it though. Sigh. Here you go, enjoy it internet but remember! I liked it first!

*Goes off to the corner and pouts, while singing Boston at the top of her lungs*

Just a little love

Do you ever have one of those days where you just need to feel loved?

Im having one of those days.

I had a very emotionally draining night last night. I drained out all the love in me and poured it into someone else. Someone who has done the same for me my entire excistence. Im his little girl, and he's my first love.

Today I need a little of that love back, and you know what when you need love, sometimes it's hard to find or should I say feel it?

So I did what I do when I need a little love, I listened to some soulful love music.

Today it's Ray Lamontagne.

I saw Ray at ACL.

He played on Friday, this was the day I hung out at ACL all by myself. At first I was sad, but when I got to Ray's show I layed back, closed my eyes and his music made my heart burst.

Music can give you love when no one or nothing else will.

Thank You Ray.

Do you remember what today is?

Shakira night! Im so excited.

In other news Team Ramrod was defeated again last night. Santi and Snippy report the score as 8-0 I had a message from one of The Jerks we played last night, no really that's their name. He said the score was 11-0 but that we were a lot fun and that our catcher aka Bob was funny as hell. She really is funny when she plays kickball.

I also have to report that Im quite smitten with Dentist. Now if only he lived in Austin, but that can be forgiven seeing as him being away has to do with him completing Dental school. Im all up for long distance as long as in the end I become a Dr's wife. haha

I really like him though, I like him as much as I did the first time I saw him in Government class senior year. Im drooling almost as much now as I did back then, ok maybe a little more because he's going to be a dentist.

Ok Internet, seriously. I like him a lot. Just when I think he's going to dissapoint me or say something stupid, he says something wonderful and leaves with butterflies inside.

13 Is the best age ever

Seriously. I know I didn't think 13 was that fabulous when I was actually 13. Let me tell you though last night I went back in time and became the giggly, won't stop talking, boy crazy girl who thinks rock-stars are the coolest thing alive all over again. Believe me internet, it was too fun for words. You too can experience this with the help of 5 beers, trust me its F-U-N FUN!

So yesterday I told you that I was going to go see Augustana and that I was totally going to geek out cause they're awesome and I got the name of this blog cause of them, and their music is awesome and blah blah blah.

First of all I had great company: Diana, Snippy, and beer. Trust me beer is very important in this story because apparently you see, I talk a lot . Actually according to Snippy, " Like, think about how much you think is a lot and then multiply it by 4,000 and that’s half as much as Emma talks. For real."

Well, take what Snippy said and mutliply it by like a million when I've had beer and THAT's how much I talked last night, I know, I know it's a concert but you don't understand how awesome last night was. First we get to the Parish and the doors aren't open. Diana and I are starving so we decided to go to Jazz's and sit down while we wait for the doors to open so we can buy tickets. Diana is on her cell next to me and I walk up to the bar not even looking to see if there is room for her, cause Im stupid like that and this shaggy guy in a cap and red shirt asks me, If I want him to move to the other side of the bar so Diana and I could sit together.

I of course told him, "No."
I explained to him, "That Im stupid and spaced out and I wasn't looking and that I would gladly sit at the part of the bar that had more then one stool."

The waitress says something to Shaggy about his tab and he says Im with the band and then I realized omg that guy IS in the band and omg he was so nice to me, and he talked to me and I want to do him and have his babies and all that other stuff.

So I tell Diana who is now off her cell phone that OMG, that guy is with the band. So she geeks out too and we make small talk with him and you guys don't understand he was SO NICE. He told us how much he liked Austin how Austin was so much better than Dallas and I of course start telling him how much I love their music. Even better I told him that omg I write this stupid blog and that I got the title of it from their lyrics of Boston, cause that's my favorite song of theirs. I know, I know BUT I told you guys I was going to geek out. So I told him the title of my blog and don't worry I omitted the .blogpsot.com because I really don't want him to read this. Not that he would but anyway.

At this point one of the guys that works in the restaurant informs us that the show is sold out so I of course freak out, because you DON'T UNDERSTAND I HAVE TO SEE THIS BAND. The waitress hears me freaking out and informs me that she's going to find out what she can do because I mean we're sitting with the keyboardist and well we should get to see the show. So our waitress informs us that she went to the guy at the door and she got us on the list so we could see the show for FREE! I mean I was contemplating how exactly I was going to present my indecent proposal to the keyboardist so I could get in, but don't worry internet I didn't have to prostitute myself.

Yes, this is going to be a long blog. So sit tight, or you know don't read it, whatever.

Well, we got on the list but it was only for two and since Snippy was coming I went outside 10 before 8 to get her a ticket because the manager of the Parish informed me that there were plenty of tickets left. While standing in line I managed to make friends with a very nice girl named Courtney who happened to be a stewardess and her pilot friend John who happened to be very hot. Did I mention that he was a pilot? She was talking about how awesome the band was, and how great her job was and I was pretending to pay attention. Only I was really just trying to see if her and the pilot were together and I say they weren't so I was automatically in love. Panama who?

I got the ticket and went back to Diana to eat at which point Snippy shows up and I start talking and talking and talking about everything that just happened. I have another beer and then Snippy decides that Im crazy. Im not gonna deny it.

We finally made it up to the Parish and the opening act haven't started yet and it was already 9:15 p.m.
So I introduced Diana and Snippy to my new friend and I continued to try and figure out if Pilot was with Stewardess. Diana got a vibe that they were but I still say no they weren't together. So the opening act went up and they were good and I found out that the bar had my favorite beer, Sierra Nevada, so I managed to have two more plus a corona before that.

Augustana finally came on and they were beyond amazing or at least the first part of it was because I didn't really hear the rest, but only because apparently I like to hear myself talk more.

See this is what happened:

Diana tells me that she sees Pilot standing all by himself in the back and I think that's totally awesome cause this is my chance to be able to join the mile high club in the actual pilot's cabin. So after I smoothly make a stop at the bathroom I went and stood right next to Pilot and said, "Hey why are you standing all by yourself over here?"

Pilot then says, "Actually, this is my friend right over here."
So I say, "Oh that's nice Pilot." Only at this point I actually looked at Pilots face and realized that, OMG THIS GUY ISN'T PILOT!
I know you're thinking this is what happens when you drink and this type of thing only happens to me but damn. Diana pointed him out and she only had two beers and I had five so Im excused. Seriously though this guy was kinda short too just like pilot, he had short dark hair just like pilot and he was wearing THE EXACT SAME THING that pilot was wearing. I mean he even had the same flip flops as Pilot.

So here I am in this dilemma of how do I walk away? What do I say? Do I act cool and not tell him how big of a dumbass I was?

Then I decided that you know what? This guy that isn't Pilot is kind of cute so I decide to tell him the whole I thought you were Pilot story. I kept on telling him that seriously, I didn't mean to hit on him and that I really thought he was pilot. At first I think he might have been a little offended, or just didn't believe me. So I offered of course to buy him a beer cause Im a dumbass.

So we got the beer and we stayed at the end of the bar away from the show, with Augustana playing in the background. I talked and talked and talked. I found out so much about him in that 30 mins we were talking, he's from California, he just moved to Austin, he loves it here, he went to UCLA, lives in South Austin and he's smart. The guy had books in the bar! He didn't mean to bring them but they just happened to walk by and they wanted to check out the band, so he didn't have anywhere to put his books. I like this guy. Now remember how I said that I had 5 beers? Well Im pretty sure the one I had with him makes six and honestly I know I talked WAY TOO MUCH to this guy. However, he gave me his number and now I have to wait to call him, so we'll see.

Honestly though, how awesome was my night? So perhaps my new tales will include Cali and not Panama. Cause really Im done with Panama, boys south of the border just plain piss me off. Cali's Mom is from spain though so we're not leaving the spanish culture completely behind. Yes I might be in love with another boy, I mean I know you think Im stupid because that's three boys in one night plus an entire band. But man I was 13 last night!

The moral of the story: 13 wasn't that much fun because when I was actually 13 I never had 6 beers in me.

What's in a name?

I can't work in silence, therefore I always have yahoo radio playing while Im at work. Every once in a while I like to play the new artist channel and when there is a song I really like I'll write down the name and title of artist and look for more info and music from them. That's how I discovered Augustana.

The song that I heard was called, Boston:

I loved the song from the very beginning. The use of the piano in the melody give it a very light and distinct sound. They reminded me of coldplay a little bit with an edgier slightly harder sound at times. What really impacted me the most was one lyric of Boston because it described exactly what I was feeling at that moment in my life. The lyric was:

"I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset."

As you have now figured out that's how I got the title and url for this blog. That simple quote just spoke very clearly and deeply to me. So I went out and bought their CD All the Stars and Boulevards.

Since then this CD has become one of my favorites and I still find myself putting it on repeat over and over again. They are very young musicians but they are extremely sincere when they write their music and we all know that finding depth in music is extremely hard these days. I found myself relating to their words and music from the very beginning. When I listen I feel as if Im experiencing the same emotions they were at that very moment when their fingers struck that guitar, drums or piano a little harder, rhougher or perhaps a little softer.

Augustana came to Austin during SXSW but I happened to be out of town when they played, I was extremely dissapointed but guess what?

They will be playing at the Parish on 6th tonight! Its $14 at the door and Im so incredibly excited to finally see them. If any of you guys would like to see them with me let me know, Id love your company. Although I warn you that Im totally going to geek out and it might not be pretty.

I know they're not big and they're not famous, but in case you didn't know I have an infatuation for dorks but most importantly for honest, talended and passionate people. These boys give me just that, so I will leave you with an excerpt of the bio they wrote on themselves:

...Some of us who started here years ago, are gone now...some of us are new here...some of us have lost loved ones in life, some of us are gaining new loved ones today...we've been in love, we've been loved...we've had our hearts broken, and in turn done the same to others...

...We're always on tour, we're always home...we get tired...we have good shows, we have bad shows...we drink, we smoke, we quit, we start again, we lie, we dance, we cheat, we're sorry, we're faithful, we have kids, we have girlfriends, we're single, we're married, we're lost, we're alone, we're finally happy, we're finally home...we smile, we cry, we live, and we'll die...but as long as you care to listen to what we have to sing and say, we promise we'll always give you all we have as people and musicians...and we'll see you all very soon...thank you for listening, goodnite...

Holy Lord, Did he ever even let sexy leave?

I had such a good nap last night and I could have slept all the way until morning, but being that I knew that JT would be premiering his new video, Sexy Back. I made sure I woke up in time to watch it. I have been in love with JT from the very beginning, I loved him even during my virgin years. He awakened my sexuality though and I remember being 14 and imagining doing dirty, nasty, rhough things with him. In my head sex with JT went exactly as it does at the end of this video.

I was in love with the song before the video, but now this is staying on repeat. Enjoy.

Why I love My Friends

Santi suggested we go check out Blues On The Green at Zilker Park.
Bob picked me up at work due to my lack of car situation.
Mr.Bob converted master bedroom into a sweet media room.
Bob let me borrow a tank top and flip flops so I didn't have to go to BOTG in heels.
Bob gave me beer.
Calling Santi at some person's cell phone over and over again to try and get directions to BOTG.
Santi slurring so much I can't understand him.
Snippy came back from her trip looking hot. (Yeah, I said it again!)
Drinking 3 beers at Bob's place, one in Bob's car and one courtesey of Bob at BOTG.
Bob gets me drunk :)
Snippy tells me to shut up, or stop saying that a lot, but I keep on saying it anyway. She puts up with it.
Bob reminding me of my illness before I picked up my cell to call Panama.
We talk about boobs a lot.
Santi scared Panama with his posse of gay men.
Bob and Snippy made me ask this guy if his great dane was a great dane.
Bob and Snippy make me go as the guy with the great dane if the great dane was mixed.
Bob calls out "French Boy" on not being French.
Seeing gay drama out the corner of my eye.
Bob offering to put Panama's bike in the back of her car.
Santi actually can manage to make Panama think he is trying to hook up with Bob.
How I can walk up to them and loudly announce that Panama and I are having dinner and lots of hot sex tomorrow.
All of them making fun, epxressing opinions about how truly smitten I am of Panama.
Calling Arlette right after to tell her all about my wonderful night.
Walking into Trudys to see Luis and not having to wait for a table.
Having Santi call me drunk and fat a million times during dinner, ok wait that should be on the why I hate my friends list. (jk Bitch, I love you.)
Mexican Martinis taste a lot better when you're sharing them with Bob, Mr. Bob, Santi and Snippy.
Bob drove me home.
Even better, soon we'll be playing kickball on a team, Team Ramrod. Even better, lots of drinking after kick ball.
Calling Arlette when I get home so we can finish talking about how she needs to just say no to that guy, how Panama is taking me out to dinner tonight, and about how she should come home like today.

I love you guys!

Can't get Midland off My Mind

Because when he's holding you,Know that it's killing me, Let my memory be the reason girl That you can't sleepAnd everytime you feel his touch,I pray to God it's not enough And that I've touched your heart so deep Girl, you can't shake me Cause I love you,Yes I need you,Miss me baby. Everytime you hear this song,Miss me baby...
-Chris Cagle, Miss Me Baby

Its a long story, one that Im sure if you get to know me you will hear. My heart is out west, and honestly I don't think I'll ever get it back. I hope that when he holds someone else he realizes how much its killing me, and I want my memory to be the reason he can't sleep, and everytime he feels her touch I pray to God its not enough and I hope I touched his heart so deep that he can't shake me. I love him, I need him, I want him to miss me. Everytime he hears this song I want him to think of me. I know that I don't need this song to feel, want, and hope those very things. I already do, every minute of every day.
